What do you call the crescent Moon when the points of the crescent point straight up from the horizon?

Whew! That's a good one. Astronomers don't bother attaching names to everything they see. I suggest you have a look at the Farmer's Almanac or contact their publication office. There is probably some name for it in the folk literature....The only one I know is "the old Moon in the new Moon's arms".
