Both.
Relative to its expected 12 billion year lifespan, it is only 5 billion years into its life making it a rather young star comparable in age to a human of about age 30 or so. Compared to the Universe, which has been around for perhaps 15 billion years, it is also rather young having come onto the scene only in the last 5 billion years. Relative to other stars, it is hard to tell since some stars last only 10 million years before burning out, while others may last much longer. The majority of the stars in our Milky Way are probably quite a bit older than the Sun by many billions of years, so our Sun is a relative newcomer to the scene. Astronomers are also witnessing stars being born in distant dust clouds, so the new kids on the block have already arrived! There goes the neighborhood!!!
