Will Earth pass through the tail of Comet Hale-Bopp?

No. The orbit of the comet is well outside the orbital plane of the Earth so that the Earth will not pass through the tail. According to Juan Cabanela's page on the orbit.

"In the diagram above, the orbital path of Comet Hale-Bopp is plotted in gray. The plane of the solar system, where the planets reside, is outlined by gray boxes. The orbits of the planets Mercury, Venus Earth, and Mars are shown in orange, purple, green, and red. The Sun is the bright dot in the center. The diagram is attempting to show the three-dimensional nature of the orbit of Comet Hale-Bopp as it passes over the solar system, around the Sun, and through the plane of the solar system and "underneath" the planets.

Also notice that Comet Hale-Bopp is never very close to earth (the distance between the Earth and the Sun is 93 million miles or 150 million kilometers)".
