How large is the Sun compared to the earth?

The radius of the Sun is 6.96 x 10^10 centimeters or 69.6 billion centimeters. The radius of the Earth is 6.37 x 10^8 centimeters or 637 million centimeters. Since volume is the cube of the radius, we can form the ratio of their radii and cube it to find out how many Earth volumes would fill the sun. The answer is 1,300,000 give or take a few thousand!

In terms of mass, the Sun is 332945 time more massive.
