In what direction does the Milky Way rotate?

From our location, the Milky Way is rotation towards the direction of the constellations Sagittarius through Cygnus. If we were looking down on the plane of the Milky Way from its 'northern hemisphere' we would see it rotating clockwise. We are moving towards the constellations in the sky that straddle the Milky Way in the summertime, and away from the opposite constellations that straddle the Milky Way in the wintertime, at a speed of about 220 kilometers/second.
