Is the Moon visible from Barrow Alaska in the summer?

The declination for the moon is +4 degrees in June, +14 in July and +18 in August. The maximum declination occurs on July 31 at +18 degrees 20 minutes. Barrow Alaska is at a latitude of +70 degrees. This means that declinations below -20 degrees never make it above the horizon. Since the moon is always at declinations between -20 to +20, you will be able to see the moon all year round from Barrow if you have an unobstructed southern horizon with no mountains. On July 31, at a declination of +18, it will be about 38 degrees above the horizon. Only at latitudes above +80 degrees do you run into a problem. Even from the North Pole you would be able to see the moon about 6 months out of the year when its declination is above +1 degree.
