Are there any close stars that could go supernova and wipe out life on the Earth?

No. The nearest star is Betelgeuse which is about 500 light years away. It WILL become a supernova, but this could happen anytime between now and 10 million years from now. It will not have any lethal impact upon us here on Earth thanks to our atmosphere and magnetic field. Even its gaseous, x-ray emitting remnant will not do much more than be a nuisance for astronauts for, say, 20,000 years after it gets here.
