Why is Titan considered a likely place to look for life?

We don't really expect to find life there because it is too cold and chemically hostile.

It is only an interesting place because it is expected to be rich in methanated compounds, ethane, ethelene and other things. It is only about 70 K at the surface, so this would rule out life which seems to require lots of energy resources to drive interesting chemistries.

Titan seems to be an ideal laboratory for pre-biotic chemical synthesis, and will show us just how chemically complicated the surface of a world can get without life emerging.
