Pseudo-Science uses the terminology of science to make it sound like there is a lot of technical rigor involved in the topic, but uses none of the experimental techniques, or the scientific method, to validate or falsify any claim. In pseudo-science, you spend nearly all of your time finding evidence to support your claim, and selectively suppressing or not getting around to doing, the necessary control experiments or experiments that might support another explanation. UFO and ESP investigators assume that these phenomena aregenuine, and collect reams of anecdotal evidence to support their claim, but ignore statistics, probability and all the standardized methods of data gathering that scientists scrupulously use to test their ideas in an unbiasedmanner. Scientists spend a LOT of time checking and cross checking their datato make certain it is accurate. They are enthusiastic detectives who arealways looking for explanations that might NOT support the prevailingtheories in their areas, at the same time that others are trying to developnew observations to support their theories. In pseudo-science, this level ofactivity is stunted in favor of working hard to find evidence that supportsCreationism, UFOs and ESP, but not working as hard to find other explanations. Creationists do not even allow non-deistic explanations to be considered.
If there was anything to UFOS and ESP other than conventionally explainablephenomena, even amateur investigations would have uncovered far more concrete evidence that they have.
